Almond Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar
dash salt
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

Directions:

In a 2-cup glass measuring cup, place chocolate, water and butter or margarine. Microwave at 100% power (700 watts) for 1 to 3 minutes or until chocolate is melted, stirring after each minute.

Stir in sugar and salt. Microwave at 100% power for 1 minute.

Stir in corn syrup and almond extract. Serve warm over ice cream. Cover and refrigerate leftover sauce.

* If desired, substitute 1/4 cup almond liqueur for the water and omit the almond extract.
