Any Way You Want to Slice It

Serves: 5

Ingredients

Directions:

A long, scalloped-edge serrated bread knife or sharp straight-edge knife works great for cutting bread. Cut with a back-and-forth sawing motion. However, when cutting a warm bread loaf, we find that an electric knife works best. After cutting, place the loaf cut side down on a surface to help prevent it from drying out.

Bread machine loaves come in various shapes and sizes. Here are several ways to cut them.

-For square slices, place the loaf on its side and cut down through the loaf. We find this the easiest way to cut loaves.
-For rectangular slices, place the loaf upright and cut from the top down, then place each half cut side down and cut lengthwise into wedges.
-For other shapes, use your imagination! Bread slices can be cut into triangles, fingerlike strips and chunks. Or slices can be cut with cookie cutters into other interesting and fun shapes.
