2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1/4 cup boiling water
1/4 cup tequila
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Tequila Frosting:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon grand marnier
3 - 4 tablespoons tequila

Preheat oven to 375°. Put chocolate, water, and tequila in a saucepan and cook over low heat until chocolate is melted. Let cool, then stir the eggs into the chocolate mixture. Cream sugar and butter together and stir into the chocolate and egg mixture. Add salt, vanilla, buttermilk, baking soda, and flour and stir until blended, but do not overbeat. Pour into 2 lightly greased and floured 8-inch-round cake pans. Bake in a 375° oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center. Let the cake cool in the pans on a wire rack. Remove from the pans and frost with Tequila Frosting.

Tequila Frosting:
Cream butter, salt, and sugar together. Add vanilla and Grand Marnier. Then slowly add tequila until the frosting is a spreadable consistency. Spread smoothly over cake.
