Ingredients

ANGEL FOOD CAKE WITH FRESH FRUIT:
1 box angel food cake, prepared OR one purchased angel food cake
2 cups fresh berries, any combination; washed and hulled, and sprinkled with 1/4 cup sugar OR 1 can fruit pie filling
1/4 cup sugar (if berries are used)
1 can whipped topping (optional)

Directions:

At least one hour prior to serving, toss berries with sugar and refrigerate. Doing this will sweeten the berries and allow them to soften slightly, it will also bring out the juice of the berries, and create a simple syrup. You can do this several hours ahead of time if you desire.

Cut the prepared Angel Food cake in slices, top with a large spoonful of berries with some of the syrup, and top with whipped cream.
