Chicken a la King

Easy to make, always a comfort and filling and nourishing too, this chicken a la king recipe is one you'll keep coming back to when planning dinner. ADovetailing Tip: Cook additional chicken to have ready for Chicken Mushroom Stew on day 4.

Ingredients:
4 individually frozen biscuits
1 3/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/3 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup whole milk
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
2 tablespoons diced pimientos

Directions:
Bake the biscuits according to the package directions.

In a large skillet, saute the mushrooms, onion and celery in butter until the veggies are crisp-tender. Stir in the flour and salt, mixing until they've blended. Gradually stir in the broth and milk. Bring the pot to a boil, then cook, stirring, for two minutes or until the sauce has thickened.

Add the cubed chicken and pimientos to the skillet, and heat everything through. Serve the chicken, sauce and veggies with the biscuits.
