SWEET Cheeseball Formula and Recipes

Two weeks ago we looked into tons of options for savory cheeseballs, and today it’s time to give sweet cheeseballs a turn! Cheeseballs are so easy to make, and they are delicious! If you haven’t tried a sweet variation, you’re missing out! It’s a great party food and they are so scrumptious! And just like the savory cheeseballs, you can do so many tasty variations!

Let’s start with our base. You can change up the flavor of your cheese ball by adding any of these to your cream cheese base:

  • Cake mix (Try red velvet, strawberry, funfetti, lemon, or spice cake! )
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown sugar
  • Peanut butter
  • Nutella
  • Caramel sauce
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Strawberry jam
  • Hot chocolate mix
  • Crushed cookies
Once you have your base, you can add more flavors and textures by adding one or more of the following:

  • Chocolate chips
  • Toffee pieces (homemade or use chopped Heath or Skor bars)
  • Dried cranberries
  • Chopped pretzel pieces
  • Chopped potato chips
  • Chopped fruit like strawberries or apples (only if you’ll be using it up quickly)
  • Blueberries
  • Cookie bits (like chopped Oreos or Chips Ahoy or gingersnaps)
  • Caramel bits (found in the baking aisle)
Once you’ve made up your cheeseball, you need to roll it in deliciousness! Here are some great options:

  • Chocolate chips- try all kinds of flavors! White chocolate, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, dark or semisweet!
  • Sprinkles! (You could completely change up the look of your cheeseball just by changing out the colors and types of sprinkles you use!)
  • Toffee pieces
  • Crushed pecans
  • Sliced almonds
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Caramel bits

And then of course, we need delicious things to dip in our dessert cheese ball! So many tasty things to try!

  • Nilla Wafers
  • Graham crackers
  • Graham cracker sticks
  • Animal crackers
  • Oreos
  • Apple slices
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Pretzel crisps
  • Club crackers
  • Ritz crackers
  • Chips Ahoy cookies
  • Teddy Grahams

What would be your favorite combination? If you’re not sure where to start, I’ve included some delicious options for you below! Check out these recipes!

Circus Animal Cookie Cheesecake Cheeseball with Sprinkles

Serving size: 15
Calories per serving: 261

Ingredients:
16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 package (about 3 cups) Sugar Cookie mixes
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups chopped Circus Animal cookies
pink food coloring
Rainbow Nonpareils colored sprinkles

Directions:
Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment beat together the cream cheese and the butter until fully incorporated.

Add the sugar cookie mix, sugar, pink food coloring, and vanilla extract and beat until fully incorporated.

Fold in the chopped Circus Animal Cookies.

Lay out a piece of plastic wrap and scoop the cream cheese mixture onto it.

Do your best to form a ball, then wrap up the ball in the plastic wrap. Do an extra layer of plastic wrap to help it keep its shape.

Freeze for about 2 hours.

Take the ball out of the freezer and unwrap.

Place the sprinkles in a low shallow baking dish or jelly roll pan (I find a plate too small).

Roll the ball in the sprinkles making sure you cover as much of it as you can.

Wrap the ball back up into some plastic wrap and place in the fridge.

If not serving that day, place back in the freezer and then take out an hour before serving to come up to room temperature.

Serve with assorted cookies.
