Last Minute Foodie Halloween Costumes

Halloween is here! It’s so much fun dressing up- and even better if you can incorporate more than one love by dressing up as something us foodies can appreciate! Of course, Halloween is quite literally here, so if you’re trying to find a last minute costume idea, look no further!

  • Cereal Killer. Carry around a cereal box stabbed with a knife, or tape mini cereal boxes on your shirt and puncture them with plastic knives. A little macabre, but clever!
  • A Bunch of Grapes. Blow up a bunch of purple balloons and tape them all over you. Now you’re a bunch of grapes!
  • Cookie Monster. This could be as elaborate as you want it to be, but to really keep it simple, you can wear a bright blue shirt and carry around a bag of cookies! Having a few crumbs on your shirt probably helps add to the effect as well ;)
  • Smarty Pants. Glue a bunch of smarties to your pants and you’re an automatic smarty pants!
  • M&M. Another one that would be easy to recreate. Just put an M on your shirt! It would be even cuter if you could get the whole family involved- a whole colorful array of M&M’s!
  • Life. Wear a shirt that says Life and carry around a bag of lemons! You know, “When life gives you lemons…” That might be a great one for this year in particular ;)
  • Strawberry. Cut out tear drop shapes of paper for “seeds” and attach them all over a red shirt or red dress. Add a green cap and you’re a cute little strawberry!
  • Gumball Machine. There’s a few various ways to pull this off, but basically wear a red bottom (pants or skirt), a white top with a bunch of pom poms, and include a little belt with a large label that says 25 cents. Cute and clever! (You could even be chewing and blowing up bubble gum all night for added effect!)
  • Spaghetti. Glue a bunch of beige yarn to a shirt (or hoodie for full effect), and lightly sprinkle with large dark brown pom-poms (meatballs!)
  • Morton Salt icon. We all have some in our pantry, right? If you have a yellow dress and an umbrella, you could easily pull off this look! Just carry some Morton salt with you to top off the look!
  • Eye Candy. Glue some big googly eyes and fun size candy bars onto a shirt and you’ll automatically be “eye candy”. Who knew it was that easy? ;)
  • Breadwinner. If you’re into puns and easy costumes, carry around loaf of bread and wear a medal to be the “breadwinner”. Easiest. Costume. Ever.
What are you going to be this Halloween? I’d love to hear!
