12 Days of Christmas- And Everything You Need Is In Your Kitchen!

There’s many ways to give to others this holiday season, and many families try to find ways to give that involve the whole family. One of the easiest ways to do this is through a 12 Days of Christmas!

I think most of us are familiar with how a 12 Days of Christmas gift-giving plan works. The 12 days leading up to Christmas, you deliver a gift to the family of your choice. Some families go all out and use their Christmas budget for this sole purpose. Some families will budget a significant amount in order to be able to deliver a substantial amount of gifts over the 12 days. However, there are years where we may be a little more strapped for cash, but still want to participate in this fun and festive tradition of giving to others and helping to spread Christmas cheer.

If this is one of those years for you, don’t fret! You can still participate in this wonderful giving tradition without breaking the bank- and you can find most things you need just in your kitchen!

Now, some people are super organized and creative and can coordinate each gift to go with the song “12 Days of Christmas”. That’s not the purpose of this list ;). This is simply a list of several simple items (that you may already have in your kitchen!)- and you can pick and choose which ones your neighbors will appreciate the most! These work as neighbor gifts or simply a fun list of things you could deliver for 12 days to a family in need of some extra love and cheer this holiday season.

A bag of hugs and/or kisses: “We want to show you our love this Christmas season by showering you with hugs and kisses!”

Popcorn: “We wanted to pop over to tell you how wonderful we think you are!”

Bag of carrots (with some delicious veggie dip!): “You are 24 ‘carrot’ neighbors, and we ‘treasure’ that!”

Bag of grapes: “A ‘bunchful’ of wishes that you have a ‘grape’ holiday this Christmas!”

Frozen lasagna or any other delicious frozen meal: “What’s for dinner?” During the holidays we hear this a lot; well just throw this in the oven until it’s nice and hot!”

Apples and caramel dip: “We think you are a very ‘a-peeling’ family!”

Bag of salad with dressing: “We wanted to ‘toss’ some well wishes your way as you get all ‘dressed’ up for the Christmas holidays!

Bag of potatoes: “Hey ‘spuds’! We think you’re fabulous!

Frozen item (like ice cream): “We think you’re ‘brr-y’ special!”

Berries: “We think you are ‘berry’ special neighbors!”

Bagels and cream cheese- “‘Spreading’ a little Christmas ‘schmear’ to your our friends whom we love so dear!”

Ritz crackers and cheese- “Have a ‘ritzy’ Christmas and ‘spread’ around the joy!”

Pancake mix and syrup: “We’re ‘pouring out’ Christmas wishes and hoping you have a Christmas to ‘flip over’!”

Bean soup mix, or a couple cans of beans with bean dip recipe: “You’ve ‘bean’ great friends to us!”

Townhouse crackers and cheese ball: “From our ‘house’ to your ‘house’, we hope you have a ‘ball’ this Christmas!”

A bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups- “There are so many ‘Reese's’ why we like you!” (And then proceed to list them out).

A bottle of soda: “Pop! Pop! Fizz! Fizz! Oh what a great family you is!”

Hope you find this list helpful as you find a family to serve this holiday season!
