Fun Ways to Use Candy Corn- Including Homemade Butterfingers!

When it comes to candy corn, there is no middle ground- you either love it, or hate it! If you’re like me….. You can’t get enough of it! I LOVE candy corn, or really any of the fall mellowcremes from Brach’s. My favorite bag is the one that has the mixed flavors (like banana and chocolate)- that stuff is dangerous to have around the house ;). As much as I love eating candy corn by the handful, sometimes it’s nice to branch out a little and try something new! Or maybe you’re the ONLY one in your household who likes candy corn, and you need to find a creative way to incorporate it into other things!

*Fudge. Whip up a batch of your favorite white fudge recipe and sprinkle crushed candy corn across the top- or just mix in the chopped pieces!

*Chocolate Bark. If fudge sounds a little too intense right now, take the easy way and make chocolate bark! Just melt white chocolate and sprinkle candy corn across it before it dries! You can spice it up by adding chopped pretzels, Oreos, peanuts, Reese’s pieces, etc.

*Candy corn rice krispies. I love the versatility of rice krispie treats- you can throw pretty much anything in them and it works great! Candy corn is no exception ;). An easy way to make a festive holiday treat!

*Candy corn cookies. Candy corn is just as good warm as it is cold! Cookies are a great base for all extra sugary things :). This is a fun one for kids to help with too!

*Hot chocolate mix-in. Sometimes your hot chocolate just needs a little something extra- a few pieces of chopped candy corn could be exactly what you’re looking for!

*Ice cream topping. You can put anything on ice cream…. Even candy corn! Or make your own at home and make full-blown candy corn ice cream!

*Halloween trail mix. It’s not too cold to stop hiking yet, right? Create your own trail/snack mix with your favorite cereals, nuts, and a dash of candy corn ;).

*Hugs and pretzels. One of my favorite Christmas treats is to melt a chocolate Kiss or Hug on a pretzel and stick a single M&M on top. You can make this same treat and substitute the M&M with candy corn!

*Popcorn. Craving something sweet and salty? Melt some marshmallows and butter and pour it over some cooked, buttered popcorn. Mix in candy corns before it dries and you’ll have the perfect treat for your craving!

*Pretzel rods and chocolate. Another great sweet and salty treat- and dipping pretzel rods in chocolate is just such a fun activity to do with kids! Let them decorate with candy corn to their heart’s content!

*Butterfinger Jar Candy Corn Butter. Yes, this is a real thing. Apparently when you mix candy corn and peanut butter- you get the Butterfinger flavor, which is one of my FAVORITES. Now a recipe that allows you to spread that goodness on apples or toast? Yes please!! All you need is candy corn, creamy peanut butter and vegetable oil! Blend together and voila! Magic butter :). *Homemade Butterfingers. If you REALLY want to look fancy- make these homemade Butterfingers! This is the perfect way to sneak in some candy corn for those non-candy corn lovers in your home! ;) I’m actually super excited to try these because my husband loves the flavor of Butterfingers but hates how they stick to your teeth! These may be a great compromise! Chocolate, peanut butter, and lots of candy corn ;).
