Like Cake Batter?

Cake Mix was created for my happiness. Cake MIX specifically. Cake is okay, but put that flavoring as an ice cream, in a cookie, oh boy...it's hard to beat. I'm always a little sad when I go to my favorite ice cream shop, and I choose not to get the cake batter flavored, cookie-dough-infused goodness. I need to just learn to order it every time.

So, you might have read about one of the cake batter concoctions that I've been wanting to try...Cake Batter Muddy Buddies.

Well...I tried them.

OH MY GOODNESS! Goodness only slightly describes these little Pop-in-your-mouth delights. It was bursting with the flavor of cake batter. Bursting. And sticking with the cake mix way, it was so simple—

Simple enough that I made them while making the strawberry ones for Valentine's Day. I set aside a few that were already coated in white chocolate and then sprinkled it with yellow cake mix. I can't wait to make a whole batch.

All I'm waiting for is an excuse to make them. I know if I don't have an excuse of somewhere to take them or someone to take them too, the whole thing will be gone way too quickly, and I'll have been the only one to have eaten them (my husband isn't as into cake batter as me).

I can't wait to try all the different concoctions. You could use a spice cake mix in the fall, a pistachio pudding sprinkle for St. Patrick's day, ETC. Any ideas you want to throw out there?

Recipe

Cake Batter Puppy Chow

Yield: 5 cups

Serving size: 10
Calories per serving: 129

Ingredients:
5 cups chex cold cereal
10 oz. (5 squares) almond bark
1 1/2 cups yellow cake mix
1/2 cup powdered sugar (some people leave it out)
1/4 cup vegetable shortening

Directions:
Melt Almond Bark according to the package directions, adding vegetable shortening to thin if desired.

Pour the cereal, cake mix, and powdered sugar into a paper bag or container with a lid.

Drizzle melted Almond Bark over the cereal and fold down the top of the paper bag or put the lid on the container.

Shake bag or container until the cereal is evenly coated.

Notes:

Tip - The above method worked just fine for me (the original creator), but some people are having trouble with the Chex and Almond Bark clumping together. Try thinning out the Almond Bark a little with shortening and mixing the Chex with the melted Almond Bark before coating with the cake mix and powdered sugar.
