Another post from the Cook'n Club Forum:

What a treat to have this board here. I can't wait to watch it grow, and have absolutely no doubts that it will be a wonderful place where we can come back over and over again.

It's All Gravy
by Alice Osborne

One of the best parts of cooking your own Thanksgiving turkey is the delicious homemade gravy you can make from the drippings. But draining off the fat can be messy and tedious (and you certainly don't want to eat it).

Spooning it out by hand or trying to soak it up with a paper towel is tiresome (believe me...I know from experience!). And, any fat that you miss will pool on the top for everyone to see when served.

However, the fact that the fat pools on the top can be used to your advantage if you have a nifty little fat separator. This article was meant to be informative and helpful but after submitting it to Dan for this issue of the newsletter, I discovered that DVO offers a high quality fat separator already! Why am I not surprised! :)

So, I guess in addition to an informative and helpful article, this has inadvertantly become a bit of a sales pitch! Nevertheless, I still stand by my article and highly recommend a fat separator. As Tony the Tiger would say...They're Grrrrrrreat!
