Peppermint Whipped Cream

Have you ever seen a picture on Pinterest and just thought, “I must cancel all my plans and make this immediately.” That’s how I felt with this peppermint whipped cream! It’s just so beautiful and festive. For me, peppermint season lasts all of winter, not just the holidays.

I used to think that living in California meant escaping winter altogether. Having been here in California for over 7 years, I now know that it still gets dark early in the day, it still feels chilly out for several hours each day and I still know when it’s winter! This Pinterest image of peppermint whipped cream spoke to me during the long winter days! Here is how to make it:

Peppermint Candy Cane Whipped Cream - Our Best Bites

Candy Cane whipped cream gets both its color and sweet flavor from crushed candy canes!  Perfect for holiday desserts like Peppermint Chocolate Bundt Cake, or dolloped onto your a cup of cocoa.  Author: Author: Sara Wells

Ingredients:
1/2 cup round peppermint candy
1 cup whipping cream
3 drops peppermint oil

Directions:
Start by unwrapping all the peppermint cadies and putting them in a high powered blender.

Pulse or blend until it is fine enough that it resembles powdered sugar. Set this aside.

Candy cane sugar is awesome for this whipped cream, and you can use it as a dessert topping or on other recipes.

Now pour cream into a stand mixer and add 4-6 tablespoons candy cane sugar.

This will sweeten your cream and add a little color! Whip cream abnormal until peaks form. If you’d like more flavor add more candy cane sugar or peppermint extract at this point.

This recipe makes about 2 cups whipped cream. You can use it on a chocolate bundt cake, atop hot cocoa or even on pancakes! Enjoy!
