The Most Ingenious Food Holiday to Rule Them All!

Coming up on September 9th we've got probably the most brilliant food holiday of them all! Get ready to celebrate your love of food with none other than "I Love Food Day"!! There's always fun holidays to celebrate, heck, this month is also national potato month and heaven knows, I can talk about potatoes for days--basically just like Bubba talking about shrimp on Forrest Gump. But I thought I'd spare you guys...for now ;)

So instead we'll go with this perfectly broad topic that's open for whatever your favorite foods are! Yay! Good food is so great, am I right?

Have I told you yet what a little foodie we are raising? My daughter just turned 2 and I'll tell ya, that little angel knows good food. She's never more excited than when mom comes through the door with a styrofoam container filled with her favorite smothered burrito. She giggles and RUNS to the kitchen to grab her brightly colored plastic fork, running back in with a big smile saying, "Poon! Poon!" Heck, the girl even likes some pretty dang spicy salsa. She's got good taste, what can I say?

And don't even get me started on dips. The girl LOVES to "deep deeeeep!" as she calls it. Ranch, ketchup, you name it. The girl loves dipping everything! That's basically your dead giveaway you're a foodie if you like things saucy and love to dip everything in ranch.

There she is, always on the lookout for ranch dressing or to see if mom is back with her burrito yet--What is taking so long, mom?!

The other day while visiting with my mother-in-law she was telling me a little bit more about a relative of ours that recently passed away. The man was in his late 70's and one detail that stuck out was she said that him and his wife, in all of their 50+ years of marriage probably only ate out together 10 times. My jaw dropped. My husband and I probably eat out 10 times a month! My cheesy, little joke to her was, "I don't think Emmy and him would have gotten along!" Emmy is, of course, the little two year old foodie, always within ten seconds of grabbing her pink "poon" and getting ready to feast on the good stuff that momma doesn't know how to make herself.

Here's one more example of my love for food and good restaurants. My husband just accepted a new job in a new city here and the commute times will be pretty horrendous so we are looking to relocate in the next few months. We seem to have it narrowed down to basically two cities. But after extensive research, they're both very safe , have excellent schools, but one of them has virtually no restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, while the other one is known for tons of excellent restaurants of all kinds. I bet you could get which one I'm leaning towards ;) What a shocker!

So how will we be celebrating "I Love Food Day" in the Richardson household?? Well, for starters, I sure as heck am not going to be the one cooking! Perhaps we'll get the baby girl a perfectly saucy shredded beef burrito, with plenty of ketchup on the side to "deep deeeep!", or maybe we'll wait two hours in line to get one of the sandwiches that broke the internet if they have them back in stock by then. Whatever it is we do, we love food and we'll have a great time celebrating all the yummy things!

How will you celebrate "I Love Food Day"? What food can you not get enough of lately? I can't wait to hear what you are thinking in the comments below. I always love good recommendations for new foods to try :)
