The Best No-Bake Chocolate Dessert Perfect for Any Occasion!

Every year on my birthday the last four years, my favorite moment by far is the making of my birthday “cake”. It is not really a cake at all, but a no-bake chocolate lasagna. My daughter, who is now seven, helps my husband make it every year and it makes my heart want to burst with love watching them make it every year.

I remember when she was almost four was the first year he had her help him, and she got to stay up late while baby brother was already in bed, and she was SO hyper and adorable and kept saying over and over, “this is the BEST night of my LIFE!!!!” She was so giggly and chatty and we all had the best night.

Who wouldn’t want to stay up late cooking with this cutey? :) This year, it was so cute because she created this whole elaborate story as her cover up so that I wouldn’t suspect this chocolate dessert was for my birthday. No, it was for somebody that Daddy works with, somebody by the name of Thomas Pedro Jackson (yes, this story was this elaborate, with a middle and last name and everything!) that worked so hard he earned a party and Daddy is in charge of bringing the dessert. But don’t you dare look at it, Mommy!

The reason they told me I couldn’t look at it is because they knew that if I looked at it, I would want it so badly that I would eat the whole pan of it. Yikes! What do my kids think of me if they think I would eat the pan?! Moving on…..

Anyway, it turned out as fabulous as always! It really is such a perfect dessert. It’s got layers of Oreos, chocolate pudding, a cream cheese/whipped topping layer and is topped with little mini chocolate chips. It is such a crowd pleaser! If you are a chocolate fan, you need to make this pronto! It’s the perfect dessert for any occasion and comes together really quickly since it is no-bake.

What do you choose for your birthday “cake” every year? Do you go with a classic cake, or something else like cheesecake or pie? I would love to know in the comments below!
