As you may have read on About DVO, Cook'n was originally designed to help people plan their food storage. Well, we have come full circle! But, this time...the software is better than ever!
This CD contains Video demonstrations, Excel Spreadsheets, Powerpoint Presentations, Food Storage Recipes, and, of course, all of the features and functionality you need to prepare menus, make shopping lists, plan, prepare, and organize.
We face threats from terrorists, earthquakes, floods (Katrina), fires (California), and other natural disasters. Personal health emergencies or the loss of employment are possibilities for each of us. But there is an economic crisis right around the corner that will affect all of us and most people are not even aware there's a problem yet.
So, we partnered with Prospering Families and created this CD because we care about the members of the Cook'n Family and we want to do all we can to help.
Did you know that the people who lived through the Great Depression didn't call it a depression? They didn't walk around saying "Boy, this depression really stinks!" They knew that the stock market had dropped, that unemployment in many areas of the country was very high, and that times were incredibly difficult. It wasn't until 1940 that the term The Great Depression was used to describe that period of time.
Could we be in a depression or headed for one and not even know it?
The stock market has dropped more than 1000 points in the last couple weeks and is off to the worst start in history! Gas prices are at a record high. The value of the dollar is at an all-time low. The housing market is in the toilet.
Consumer spending makes up 70% of the U.S. economy comes but credit card debt just hit a record high at more than a trillion dollars and credit card defaults have never been higher. Consumer spending is bound to decline and it may happen suddenly.
Lay-offs usually follow dramatic declines in the stock market. When that happens, consumer spending slows down which leads to more lay-offs which means to less consumer spending, etc. It's a vicious cycle. Some analysts say that we are headed for something that could be ten times worse than the Great Depression.
I believe this can be avoided. I believe in the ingenuity, resourcefulness, and spirit of the American people. But, it makes sense to prepare for the worst while we hope for the best.
Prepare yourselves with every needful thing and if you are prepared, you shall not fear. Let's prepare now and put fear aside...then we can tackle this thing with courage and hope (and maybe a really nice tax cut too!)!

If you are curious to know how I knew this was coming one year ago, it's because I'm good with numbers and I know how our politicians do math. It goes something like this.
Do you sell the software for The Food Planner to help families plan their food storage? If so I NEED IT BADLY, so where can I purchase it? I can't seem to get food storage right and end up wasting most of the food I store. (Lack of knowing how to store correctly, what to store, and how much etc.) Again I want to thank you for believing in yourself to get your program out on the market. Keep up the good work....:)
