Let’s Have a Serious Taco Bout Burritos

After having one of the most delicious burritos of my whole life last night, it got me pondering about life and burritos and I’m gonna go ahead and be bold and declare them the best food ever. Think about it, you can cram any and all sorts of food into a delicious big wrapped tortilla.

You might be thinking, Mary, by “any and all food” you mean Mexican food, right? No. Actually, one of the top three burritos I’ve ever had in my whole life was from a little burrito truck in Idaho Falls, Idaho called Sweeto Burrito. That particular burrito was called the All American Burrito. It had French fries in it!

They describe it as “a monster cheeseburger burrito with bacon, crispy French fries, American sauce and fry sauce.” It is brilliant! Bacon cheeseburger? Delicious! Burrito/flour tortilla? Delicious! Combine the two and you have pure magic.

Sweeto Burrito has all sorts of different flavors and they are all AMAZING! They have a Thai inspired one, one called “Buff Chick”, which has crispy boneless chicken, tater tots, cilantro ranch, and buffalo sauce. It is incredible! They also have a few breakfast type burritos with tater tots, bacon etc. It definitely gives you a flavor explosion in your mouth for any of their flavors.

Now, I realize most of you don’t live in Idaho Falls, Idaho but they do have plenty of locations in the west and some on the east coast, so you will definitely have to check out their website to see if there is one near you. I HIGHLY recommend their burritos.

Along these same lines of crazy burritos, one afternoon I came across a Facebook page for some little restaurant. They specialize in these quirky, fun kinds of burritos. 30 minutes later, I found myself down a burrito wormhole, watching video after video of each of these burritos finding myself so incredibly hungry and willing to do whatever it takes in life to get down to San Diego and try these burritos. I’m thinking at least a 7 day stay would be in order so I could try each of the burritos I want to for lunch every day :)

Sadly, I’ve spent all morning trying to find the name of this little place to no avail. So it shall forever live on a pedestal in my memory and I will pray for an epiphany to remember the name so my foodie life can feel complete.

Now, for those of us who do not live near Idaho Falls or San Diego, I wanted to share a list from ranker.com of the top 10 burritos from chains that most of us can access. My first priority is always ma and pop restaurants to get good, authentic food, whether it’s burritos or burgers. However, there are times when you just need or want a big ole’ burrito from Chipotle. Heaven knows they do make a good one too.

1. Chipotle Chicken Burrito

2. Moe’s Southwest Grill Homewrecker Burrito

3. Qdoba Chicken Burrito

4. Chipotle Carnitas Burrito

5. Taco Bell Burrito Supreme

6. Qdoba Steak Burrito

7. Taco Bell Beefy 5 Layer Burrito

8. Moe’s Southwest Grill Joey Bag of Donuts Burrito

9. Taco Bell 7 Layer Burrito

10. Baja Fresh Baja Burrito

These results are based from people’s votes. I can’t say I agree that two of the top four burritos should be chicken because I would take almost any other kind of meat over chicken but I guess I can’t knock it until I try it.

What is your favorite kind of burrito? What is the craziest kind of burrito you’ve ever had? Please share in the comments below :)
