Spicy Southwestern Corn Stuffing

Ingredients

3 cups cornbread stuffing mix
1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn
1/2 cup canned diced green chili drained
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 egg lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
melted butter or margarine as needed

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 2-quart casserole dish and set aside.

2. Combine all of the ingredients, except the melted butter or margarine, in a large bowl, tossing them together until well mixed. If a moister stuffing is desired, add melted butter or margarine.

3. Transfer the stuffing to the prepared dish, cover, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until heated through. If a crisp top is desired, uncover the dish and bake for 10 additional minutes.
