Date Loaf Cake

Ingredients

1 cup dates
1/2 cup boiling water
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Cook dates in boiling water for two minutes set aside to cool. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs. Sift flour, cinnamon, cloves, salt, baking powder and soda add to mixture alternately with milk and vanilla. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
