Date-Nut Refrigerator Cookies

Ingredients

2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons water
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups dates, cut in pieces
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

Cream together brown sugar and butter. Add eggs and soda dissolved in water. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in dates and nuts. Form into rolls. Cover with waxed paper and refrigerate over night. Slice and bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
