Ingredients

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
additional sugar for coating

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl add egg, blending until fluffy. Mix in molasses and ginger set aside. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together in another mixing bowl mix into creamed mixture. Shape dough into one-inch balls roll in additional sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes on lightly greased baking sheets cool on wire racks.
