Yield: 2 to 3 Dozen

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet and set aside.

2. Place all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix with your hands. The mixture should have the consistency of clay. If it is too crumbly to stick together, add a few drops of water; if too sticky, add a little more flour.

3. Take marble-sized pinches of dough and roll into finger-size biscuits. Leave rounded or flatten a bit. Arrange the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.

4. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are very hard and just beginning to color. Cool on a wire rack. When completely cooled, store the biscuits in an airtight container.
