Chocolate Chip Date-Nut Loaf

Ingredients

1 cup chopped dates
1 teaspoon soda pop
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Directions:

In a large bowl, sprinkle soda over dates. Add boiling water and butter. Allow to cool. Add sugar, egg and vanilla and beat well. Add remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly. Pour into greased and floured baking pan (slow cooker accessory). Bake in covered crockpot on high for 2 to 3 hours.
