Quick And Easy Bread

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups warm water
2 packages dry yeast
4 tablespoons shortening
4 teaspoons salt
4 tablespoons sugar
6 cups flour

Directions:

Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour, salt, and sugar. Mix yeast mixture, shortening, and half of flour mixture for 2 minutes. Blend in remaining flour mixture. Grease sides of bowl, place dough in bowl, cover, and let rise near heat for 30 minutes. Remove from bowl and onto floured surface. Knead a few times and place in greased pan. Cover and let rise for 40 minutes or 1/4-inch from top. Bake 40 minutes at 375°F. Remove and brush with butter.
