Quick Caramel Frosting


Serves: 5

Ingredients

1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

In a small saucepan over low heat melt butter or margarine. Add brown sugar and salt stir constantly for 2 minutes.

Add milk. Increase heat to medium and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Cook and stir for 3 minutes. Remove from heat cool.

Gradually beat in powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until smooth.

Use to frost Grandma Lobeck's Spice Cake or the cake of your choice.
