Hiker's Snack Squares

Ingredients

Equipment Needed:
8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish
Medium saucepan
Dry measuring cups
Liquid measuring cups
Rubber scraper
Wooden spoon
Measuring spoons
Small knife
butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup dry milk powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups toasted oat cereal

Directions:

Grease the inside of the baking dish with butter or margarine, using a piece of waxed paper or clean fingers.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, stir peanut butter and honey with a wooden spoon until thin and well blended.

Remove pan from heat and stir in dry milk and vanilla until all the dry milk is moistened.

Gently stir in the cereal until it is well coated.

Press evenly into the baking dish. Let stand until cool, then cut into squares with a small knife.
