Hawaiian Burgers

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple in its own juice, drained
1 cup water chestnut finely chopped
4 slices ham ( 3/4 oz. each) 95% fat-free smoked cooked finely chopped
1/4 cup onion finely chopped
1 egg large, beaten
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Directions:

In a large bowl, mix beef, pineapple, water chestnuts, ham, onion and egg. Using a scant 1/2 cup for each, shape mixture into eight patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Broil 5 inches from heat source for 5 minutes.

Turn patties brush with soy sauce and broil 5 minutes longer or until of desired doneness.
