Charcoal Grilled Steak

Serves: 4

Ingredients

Have Ready:
1 beef sirloin steak 2 1/2 - to 3-pound, cut 1 1/2 inches thick
Salt and pepper to taste
You'll Need:
barbecue grill
charcoal
fire starter
matches
barbecue fork or tongs
platter
carving knife and fork

Directions:

Ask Mom or Dad to help you start the charcoal. Coals are ready to grill when covered with a white ash.

Place your steak seasoned with salt and pepper on the hot grill. To cook to "medium rare," grill for 8 or 9 minutes on each side, turning the steak only once. For "medium," cook 1 minute longer on each side. Place the steak on a platter and let your Dad do the honors of carving.
