_Decorating Tips

Serves: 5

Ingredients

Directions:

Is the frame too big for your picture? Use vintage fabric as a pretty backdrop.

Use an old drawer to make a handy shelf. It's so easy...perfect for kitchen spices or the guest bath.

Vintage carry-alls are terrific for corraling clutter. Pick up a few to use in the kitchen, craft room or on a buffet table.

Looking for an easy picnic table centerpiece? Simply set a yellow votive in the center of a pretty sunflower...beautiful!

Keep an eye on yard sales for old picture frames to use as serving trays. Attach handles and a piece of glass for the tray. Decoupage pictures or postcards onto the glass to make it your very own.

Fill a basket with pine cones for a quick & easy fireside display.

Vintage tin containers and baskets are great for storing everything from dish clothes to clothespins.

Line shelves with vintage handkerchiefs for a touch of nostalgia.

A sweet remembrance...place your child's first spoon or Grandma's old silver into a shadow box.

When carving a pumpkin, rub the edges with petroleum jelly to keep them from withering.

Fill canning jars with colorful charms, penny candy, marbles or even mini cookie cutters...so charming.

Create a cheerful, harvest table runner. Lay sunflower blooms down the center of the table. Place candles and small, brightly colored gourds and pumpkins around them.

Decorate an old chair for the garden! Simply wrap grapevine around the chair, tack a birdhouse to the back and place a pretty potted plant on the seat...a delightful garden accent.

Frame a piece of old-fashioned lace and some vintage buttons from your grandmother's sewing box. What a sweet remembrance!

Keep an eye out for unique cookie cutters...tie a nametag on to use for placecards, to cut tea sandwiches, or to add whimsy to garlands.
