1- Heat oven to 375°. Stir half of the cake mix, the shortening, butter and egg in medium bowl until well mixed. Stir in remaining cake mix.
2- Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
3- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown around edges. Cool 1 minute remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Frost with frosting.

Betty's Tip If you really love lemon, add 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel to the dough and stir 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel into the frosting.
