Two weeks after Tiffany and Scott were married, they moved to a small village, Point Lay, Alaska, where they began teaching. In six years of teaching, Tiffany has taught over twenty different subjects ranging from beginning reading with first graders to geometry and advanced sociology to high school seniors. Tiffany's favorite classes to teach are home economics (she designs her own curriculum) and health. Tiffany uses her Betty Crocker cookbook as well as the one I received as a wedding present thirty-three years ago. She has introduced recipes to the community elders, utilizing their traditional subsistence foods. This effort has changed the style in which many traditional foods were previously prepared. Tiffany also tutors first through twelfth graders on computer skills every day after school for three hours. She also supervises recreational swimming three nights a week and is one of two people certified to do so in the village. Tiffany organizes many other events for the school/community, which includes carnivals, dinners at the school for the village elders, rummage sales, movie nights, and she also volunteers at Sunday school in the village church. She is one of the most positive people I have ever met. She always looks at a challenge as an opportunity. She has been able to open so many minds, young and old, showing them new ways in which to expand upon their daily lives. All of the villagers love her for her positive helpful ways.
