National Sauce Month and My Favorite Sauces

Did you know that March is National Sauce Month? I have to laugh, because I have a couple of real sauce connoisseurs in my life, and this seems like the perfect month for them to celebrate.

My sister is ALL about the sauce. I love eating at her house, because there’s going to be a variety of sauces. I remember one time in particular, she made chicken drumsticks in the air fryer, and she started pulling out sauces from the fridge. The counter was covered! We had at least 12 different sauces to choose from, and that doesn’t include your basics like ketchup or ranch. She collects sauces from her favorite restaurants and has a knack for finding the tastiest options at local grocery stores. It’s so fun to see what she has in her fridge!

The other little sauce-lover that I know…. My little toddler :). She is such a sauce girl! It doesn’t matter what I’m serving- if there is some kind of bottle at the table, she wants some. Often, she’ll use something to dip into the sauce- and just eat the sauce! It cracks me up.

You may or may not be as into sauce as these two ladies, but I have to say- a good sauce can make even mediocre meals so much better! It never hurts to have a few delicious sauces on hand. You can take something basic like chicken and rice or a baked potato and immediately elevate it to something fancy or fun just with one sauce! Here are a couple of my family’s favorite sauces:

Mo Bettah’s Teriyaki Sauce. I love this sauce. It just doesn’t compare to any other teriyaki sauce I’ve had! I used to go to the restaurant simply because I was craving the sauce, and now that I know that I can actually buy a bottle of sauce from them, my life is changed ;).

Fry Sauce. If you’re from Utah, you know what I’m talking about. One of the sad things about visiting places outside of Utah is the lack of fry sauce! While you can mix ketchup and mayo together for a somewhat decent substitute, not all fry sauces are created equal. Some have the addition of vinegar or pickle juice or even mustard to give it a little more tang. I have certain restaurants in Utah that I prefer to visit simply because their fry sauce is superior. I guess I’m a bit of a fry sauce snob ;).

Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce. I love how sweet and subtly spicy this sauce is! Sometimes I find myself just craving this sauce- I’ve gotta keep some egg rolls on hand simply so I have an excuse to pull it out!

Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce. This stuff is potent, powerful, and tasty! One of the many sauces that I was first introduced to by my sister.

Ultimate Dipping Sauce from JCW’s. My sister and my husband are both obsessed with this sauce. It’s like fry sauce, but with a hickory smoked flavor added in. Prepare for tears if you order fries from JCW’s with my sister- but forget this sauce! ;)

Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I can handle spicier sauces, but I simply love the flavor of this one! It’s my all-time favorite hot sauce. I love adding it to nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos- all the things.

I know we barely scratched the surface of all the delicious sauce options out there. I’d love to hear from you! What are some of your favorite sauces to buy- whether from the grocery store or at a favorite restaurant? I’d love to hear them!
