Recipes That Use Jello- That Aren’t Jello!

It’s always smart to keep a few extras of everything in your pantry- but one thing that sure seems to collect is Jello! And I know it’s not just me because that seems to be something that just gradually collects in many pantries I’ve seen. Now Jello itself is always fun, and I absolutely love the smell of hot Jello, but if you’re looking to condense your Jello stash without eating a ton of the jiggly stuff, there are so many great ways to use it up! Read on for a few ideas and recipes!

Jello shaved ice. Perfect for warm spring days! Simply dissolve a box of Jello in one cup of boiling water, and stir in 2 cups of Sprite. Let freeze overnight (or at least 4 hours), and then scoop out with an ice cream scoop!

Popcorn balls. These are simple to make, and a fun treat for the weekend or any holiday! You can use different colored Jellos based on the holiday or occasion to make a festive treat! I’ve seen recipes that use marshmallows and dry Jello mix, or you can boil the jello mix with sugar and corn syrup and pour over the popcorn. Both are delicious!

Fruit salads. One of my favorite Jello salads uses a tub of cottage cheese, a can of pineapple tidbits, marshmallows, and raspberry Jello. Just mix the powder with the rest of the ingredients for a simple and super tasty side dish, perfect for all your potlucks! There are many variations out there as well!

Jello cookies. These look like so much fun! I love that you could use a variety of colors to coordinate with different holidays, or simply to let each kid pick their favorite color. I’m so intrigued by these!
