Fun April Fool's Pranks That You Can "Drink" To!

Spring is finally here, the sun is shining, everyone’s hearts are being lifted- and there may be a few pranks in the works if your family does April Fool’s Day! I’m not hugely into April Fool’s Day- I know some people go all out and spend weeks planning out what prank they will play on their family members- and some of them get pretty intense! I’m not a fan of pranks that will hurt feelings- but when it comes to food, I do allow myself a little fun ;). And as long as no one is singled out, I think it’s definitely fun!

I’ve shared several ideas in the past, but one thing I tend to neglect is beverages! My family and I are big water-drinkers; very rarely do we have anything beside water at the dinner table. I don’t usually think about the beverage aspect of a meal, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of ways to incorporate the prankster side of things ;).

*One of the easiest tricks to pull is to use Jello! Simply make a batch of Jello (red is great for a “fruit punch” look-alike), pour it into cups with a straw, and let them set in the fridge. When you pull them out, they’ll look like a cup of fruit punch all ready to go (including a straw!), but your kids will be pleasantly surprised to find it’s just a cup full of Jello!

*Another prank that may not be as tasty but will definitely fool your family- serve a pitcher of “orange juice”- pour a couple of macaroni n’ cheese packets in a pitcher, add water and stir thoroughly. You’ll definitely have a few surprised faces at your table!

*This could be a fun one with your spouse or teenagers. Freeze mentos in ice cube trays (filled with water). Serve everyone’s favorite coke product in glasses and put a couple ice cubes in each. They won’t notice anything at first, but give those ice cubes a couple minutes to melt and you’ll definitely be “exploding” with laughter!

*I’d only do this one to a fellow prankster, but why not add a couple of hot sauce packets to their soda when they’re looking the other way? Or surprise them with their favorite drink from Swig- with a couple added hot sauce packets (and have a second one ready to go so they can actually enjoy a drink ;) ).

*The night before, put a couple drops of food coloring in the jug of milk and give it a good shake. The next morning, imagine your kids’ surprise when they pour a bowl of cereal, reach into the fridge for the milk and it’s turned bright blue!

*No one likes a glass of spilled milk- but especially mom! This would be a fun one to play on your spouse: Pour some Elmer’s glue in a cup and let it drip out (appearing as if there had been a full cup, but some had spilled). On a sheet of wax paper, pour enough Elmer’s glue to make a “puddle” and set the glass on it in a way so that it appears as spilled milk. Once it’s dry, you can move it wherever you think it will have the biggest impact! On the new rug, your spouse's pillow… you get the idea ;).
