M&M's Cookie Bars

Serves: 16

The dough is quick and easy to mix up, and you don’t even need a mixer! I usually just use a whisk to mix together the sugars, butter, eggs, and vanilla, and then use a rubber scraper to mix in the flour and chocolate chips.

Ingredients:

12 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup m&m's candies

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350. Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with foil or parchment.

In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, mix together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Add the eggs, and vanilla, and mix until combined. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, then mix to form a soft dough. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and M&M's candies.

Spread the cookie dough in the prepared baking dish, sprinkling with additional chocolate chips and M&M's if desired.

Bake 24-28 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown and a toothpick inserted two inches from the side comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let cool, then slice into squares.
