Meals Your Kids Will Beg for Again and Again!

What are3 things that constitute a great meal for your kids? In my mind it is:

#1: It is nutritious and has plenty of vegetables and nutritious foods that they will actually eat. Try to avoid foods with lot of preservatives or sugar.

#2: It is delicious for them and they will eat it.

#3: It is easy. This is the one that is the most desirable component to me.

These three things are key but are sometimes hard to find. Something that has really worked well with my kids is making funny faces out of whatever foods they are eating and they are sure to eat it all up. I think it is especially effective when they get to help create it. It makes it so fun for them to make and enjoy eating.

Do you have yourself some teenagers and are maybe feeling like this wouldn’t pertain to them? I dare you to put this is front of your grumpy teen who is giving you a good case of the eye rolls and the silent treatment and I guarantee it’ll put a smile on their face. Maybe a smirk. That might be the best I can get you. I don’t know how sassy your teenager is. Let’s hope to at least get a nice little smirk

We typically think of these funny faces in these classic ways of making a simple lunch or snack with the chopped veggies and fruits and maybe some cheese and crackers, but I wanted to share some pretty creative ones you might not have seen. It seems like most of these are usually breakfast or a snack but I found some really cute ones for dinner too!

Let’s start with this adorable fruity snack.

Bert and Ernie

They made this cute snack with 1 clementine, 1 banana, raisins, 2 mini marshmallows and 1 red fruit roll up.

Ice Cream for Breakfast

Cut a little triangle out of a waffle for the cone and use bananas and a halfed strawberry for the ice cream and toppings.

Angry Bird Snack

Has the Angry Bird fever gripped your family like it has mine? They will surely love this fruit snack made with sliced Watermelon (small size) topped with cucumber, olives & Canary melon/yellow melon beak .

Funny Face Soup

Soup with toppings gives you endless options.

This is just clam chowder with green olives for eyes, a quartered tomato for the mouth and shoestring potatoes for the hair or moustache. Too cute!

Funny Face Pizza

These are just cute little English muffin pizzas with different toppings and cheeses to create little pizzas with different hair and features.

Funny Face Spaghetti

I thought this was so cute! Make a little hamburger or meatball for the face, make hair with the spaghetti and decorate and make a face with peas and little grape tomatoes.
