Vegetarian or Carnivore?

Question: How should you handle a spouse who wants to become vegetarian when you yourself are just a few fangs short of being full carnivore?

4 different Answers: Meal prep is not difficult. Just serve the meat separately from the vegetables as in a stew or stir fry; instead of using chicken or beef broth you can use vegetable broth. Then everyone can be satisfied.

You should support your spouse in their decision, but what’s right for one person may not be right for the other. Explain to them that you are not interested in becoming a vegetarian but that they are welcome to do as they please.

Not only that, there are many meat-substitute products you can buy your spouse, if you are worried about their protein intake. Morning Star has a greater variety, but Boca is lower in sodium. Living with a vegetarian isn't that hard and in fact you may find some variety of food you like.

You can certainly get along with this as long as your spouse is clear and doesn't try to force their way on you - so you eat meat with your meal along with the sides you both can eat - you prepare your own meat(s) and your spouse can prepare the remainder of the meal. Relationships are about compromise and mingling you can both do this is your willing to respect one another’s lifestyle and don't pressure the other with theirs.
