Your Waffle-Maker - Busy Weeknight Meal Superstar!

I recently lost of my dear cooking appliances who has seen my through some good and bad times. She was always there when I needed to whip up a wonderful Saturday morning breakfast. She was even there when I needed to drown my sorrows with a plate full of buttery, syrup-y waffles. My dear waffle iron gave out on me the other day mid-batch and I am so sad! I really did love this little waffle maker. It was a wedding gift, so I'll be kind of sad to buy a new one. I have my sights set on one of the fancy ones you pour in and flip over (like they have at continental breakfasts in hotels). I really love the way these waffles turn out in those kind of waffle makers so I shan't be too heartbroken for long because a waffle maker is really something I can't do without.

Not only do I make regular waffles in it, but there are so many different kinds of combinations and meals you can make in your waffle maker that you might not have thought of. These are so easy and quick to throw together on a busy weeknight. You can literally have meals like pizza and breakfast sandwiches in just minutes. The base for almost all of these are Pillsbury Grands Flaky biscuits (unless I tell you otherwise), so you can definitely brainstorm and come up with your own ideas and combinations of what you think would taste fabulous with those as a base.

Pizza stuffed waffles

Spray waffle maker with cooking spray and heat waffle maker. Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut slit on 1 side of each biscuit, forming a deep pocket. Place 1 slice of mozzarella cheese into each pocket. Top cheese with 6 or 7 pepperoni slices. Press dough around edge to seal each biscuit. Place 1 biscuit on center of waffle maker. Close lid; cook 3 minutes or until waffle is golden brown. Repeat with remaining filled biscuits. Serve with pizza sauce.

Cheese and Bacon (or Sausage) Stuffed Waffles

You can make your own breakfast sandwiches by adding already cooked strips of bacon or sausage (or both) with cheese in between layers of biscuit dough and cook until waffle is golden brown. You could even make some scrambled eggs first to stick in there to make it a true breakfast sandwich.

Smores Waffles

Imagine bringing home your favorite ooey-gooey smores in a WAFFLE! Start by heating your waffle iron. Remove biscuit dough from can and separate into 8 biscuits. Take each biscuit and separate into 2 layers. Take each layer and stretch them out into 4-inch circles. Top one dough circle with one graham cracker square. Top the graham cracker with 6 to 7 mini marshmallows, and 6 to 7 chocolate chips.

Take another dough circle and cover the s'mores filling, pressing around to seal edges. Repeat with all remaining biscuits and S'mores filling.

Cinnamon Roll Waffles with Cream Cheese Glaze

This is the ultimate easy waffle recipe that I have seen many-a-college student use time and time again (myself included). Buy a can of cinnamon rolls with the cream cheese frosting. For each waffle, place 1 cinnamon roll in center of waffle maker; close. Bake 3 to 4 minutes or until waffle is thoroughly cooked and golden brown. Meanwhile, in small bowl, stir together reserved icing, 1 cup powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk and 1 tsp. vanilla until glaze is smooth. Serve glaze over hot waffles.
