Easy Ways to Jazz Up Your Pancakes

One of my daughter's favorite foods (be it breakfast, lunch or dinner) is pancakes. Good old fashioned buttermilk pancakes. I, myself, am a waffle kinda gal (specifically the kind topped with strawberries and whipped cream), probably because they are faster to make for me and are harder to mess up J Anyway, this little thing just never gets sick of them. I started small showing her that pancakes can be pretty cool by starting out with the tried and true Mickey ears which are always a hit for her particular age group. I then blew her away by adding in blueberries and chocolate chips. While these are all wonderful choices for one of America's staple breakfasts, I have used good ol' Pinterest to find several super EASY ways to really take your pancake game to the next level.

BACON PANCAKE DIPPERS

I'm gonna go ahead and start with my favorite which is the one and only bacon pancake dippers. They are actually perfect for a little pancake party buffet, or your own Saturday morning family pancake kind of party J

1. You start out by cooking your bacon all the way and set it aside. Mix up pancake batter according to the package instructions. To make these pancakes super easy you can pour the batter in a squeeze bottle. TIP: Make sure the hole at the tip is large enough for the batter to easily go through.

2. Pour some pancake batter onto a heated, greased griddle into the shape of bacon.

3. Put a slice of bacon on top of that lightly and press it into the batter.

4. Top with a little bit more pancake batter.

5. Cook until the batter starts to bubble then turn over and cook for a few minutes longer.

6. Serve with syrup in little cups on the side to dip in. TIP: If you are doing for a party you can serve them in little 4 ounce wide mouth Mason jars.

PANCAKE SAUSAGE BITES

These are so incredibly easy I could make these half asleep and blindfolded and kids LOVE them!

1. Mix up your favorite pancake batter according to package instructions.

2. Place chunk of fully cooked sausage or bacon at the bottom of a greased mini muffin pan. You could also try some berries or other fruit.

3. Pour pancake batter over sausage (or other desired food item) and fill about half full and bake at 350 F for about 15 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.

4. Serve with syrup in little cups on the side to dip in.

BANANA PANCAKES

The pictures basically spells it all out for you. Place 3 banana slices on a heated, greased grill and top with your favorite pancake batter. Cook as you would a normal pancake. So easy and delicious! Why haven't I thought of this before?!

BACON WAFFLES (or pancakes of course)

I saved the easiest for last, but who am I kidding? They are all so easy! Literally all you do is cook up bacon and crumble it, add it to your batter and cook it as waffles or pancakes and VOILA…bacon waffles in a snap!
