Brownie Strawberry Santa Hats

Serves: 20

A fun treat for Christmas Eve. I've also used sweetened whipped cream instead of frosting, but they must be served immediately.

Ingredients:

1 brownie mix, made as directed and cooled
small strawberries (tops cut off)
1/2 cup unsalted butter -softened
3 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons half and half
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Cut the brownies using a one inch circle fondant cutter (found at Jo-Ann's from Wilton). I simply pushed down on the cutter, twisted and lifted it up with a fork. I then pushed the brownie in on the top and bottom so that the circle was flat on top and bottom.

For frosting, combine butter, powdered sugar, half and half, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with a mixer for 2 minutes, or until fluffy.

Next I placed my frosting in a zip lock bag and snipped off the corner. Then I swirled a little frosting on top of the brownie.

Finally, I put the strawberry on and added a little dot of frosting on top to complete the Santa hat.
