Brussel Sprouts with Butter

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1 pound brussels sprouts
salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Freshly ground black pepper

1 With a small knife, shave a thin slice off the base of the brussels sprouts. Cut them in half through the base.

2 Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the brussels sprouts and salt to taste. Cook until the sprouts are tender when pierced with a knife, 6 to 8 minutes.

3 Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sprouts and salt and pepper to taste. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally. Serve hot.
