Buttermilk Substitute

I was wondering... is there a good substitute for buttermilk?

Joan

Joan,

You can use a substitute for buttermilk in any recipe you make. Simply add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to a measuring cup. Then pour in milk to reach the 1 cup mark. This conversion will allow you to use any recipe any time without fussing about buttermilk. 1 cup of this mixture = 1 cup real buttermilk.

Hope this helps,

Desiri Wightman, R.D.
