We have 11 grandchildren. The last few Thanksgivings, at least one grandchild stayed over the night before so they could be there early to help prepare the turkey and dressing. It's fun to watch them clean the turkey out. Under our watching, they make the stuffing, stuff the bird and prepare it for roasting. Later, they work with grandma to make the gravy. When done they feel like they are ready to make Thanksgiving dinner on their own when the time comes.

My family wrote the one thing they were most thankful for during the previous year, on a slip of paper and put it in the "Thankful Pot". All the slips were read aloud after dinner during that wonderful time when everyone is waiting for there to be room for dessert. It was by turns amusing and touching...always humbling. :)
