Sensational Pie Crusts

Do your guests eat the filling but leave the pie crust on the plate? Create sensational crusts by using one or more of the following tips:

· Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg to either pastry or crumb crusts for pumpkin, apple, or peach pies.
· Flavor pastry for lemon pie with grated lemon or orange peel.
· Mix some powdered sugar into pastry dough, along with the flour, for a sweet treat.
· Prevent soggy crusts on pumpkin or fruit pies by brushing crust with egg white before filling.
