Father’s Day Gifts That Are Delicious and Helpful!

Summer is here and it’s time to start thinking about Father’s Day! Father’s Day can be really tricky for a lot of people- why is it that dads are so hard to shop for? Well, whatever the dad in your life is in to, here are a few ideas that are sure to please!

*A bouquet. While maybe not every man enjoys getting a bouquet of flowers, there are a few who do… and for those who don’t, there’s nothing much manlier than a bouquet of jerky! Throw in a few of his favorite manfoods amidst a little greenery and your mountain man is going to be gushing over his very own bouquet ;).

*Bacon. Anything bacon, am I right? But, if you’re wanting to try something a little fancier, give your man a jar of bacon jam! There are a lot of recipes out there, but this one seems particularly delicious! To put on top of crackers, baguettes, pancakes…. All sorts of possibilities!

Add Recipe to Cook'n

*A handmade grill plate. Every grilling Dad needs a handmade grill plate! Get a large platter (perfect for placing steaks and corn on the cobs ;) ); using non-toxic paint (made specifically to use on food dishes), let your little ones each place a loving handprint on the platter and decorate it however you want! It will be a unique and functional gift he is sure to treasure.

*Grilling utensils. Even if you’re not feeling crafty, you can still stick with the grill for inspiration! If the dad in your life enjoys barbecuing for the family, one of the best gifts you could give is a really nice set of grilling tools- including a really nice grill brush!

*An apron. Maybe the dad in your life is into grilling- or maybe he’s into baking, or cooking homemade chinese. An apron lovingly handmade would be a spectacular gift! You could let the kids add handprints or drawings to make it even more special!

*A special tackle box. My husband LOVES fishing, and I think this is going to be our Father’s Day gift this year! Fill it with gummy fishes, gummy worms, and goldfish to stick with the theme, or feel free to just stick with his favorite candies- it’s going to be a hit either way! You can also include a cheesy note- “You’re quite the catch”, “Of all the fish in the sea, we’re so glad we have you!”, “Lots of hugs and fishes”, etc. Simple, fun, and tasty!

*Make a cake. I’m pretty sure most men are not going to complain at the prospect of cake ;). But if you’re not feeling like baking in the summer heat, or you’re looking for an extra way to show your love, make a special “Father’s Day” cake- using his favorite, soda, candies, and maybe a couple small trinkets you know he’ll love. Simple, clever- I like it!

*A “Pop” basket. Tell him Happy Father’s Day by letting him know how grateful you are that he is your “Pop”. Fill the basket with all sorts of items that have the word pop- Pop-tarts, popcorn, poppyseed desserts, a bottle of pop, etc. Such a cute and easy idea!

Whatever route you choose, be sure to find a way to show the fathers in your life that they are loved, because they deserve it!
