O Christmas Tree- You Are Delicious!

One of the most iconic symbols of Christmas is the Christmas tree! I know in my house, my Christmas decorating just doesn’t feel complete without the tree. We see Christmas trees in doctor’s offices, malls, restaurants- it’s just a beautiful part of the Christmas tradition!

And of course- there’s so many fun ways to make Christmas trees that involve food ;). My kids LOVE when food and an activity are involved together (they get it from their mother ;) ), so I love looking for fun food crafts that my kids and I can enjoy together! And there’s so many ways to make a Christmas tree!

*Waffle Cones. I LOVE this idea. You can really let your kids’ creativity go wild with this. Give each child a waffle cone, let them lather it with green frosting, and then let them go to town with all kinds of goodies to decorate with. M&M’s, gumdrops, pretzels, Pull n’ Peel licorice that’s been separated, cinnamon Santas, etc. would all make great “ornaments” for your littles’ festive and tasty tree!

*Put your kids’ baking skills to the test with brownies ;). My kids love to help make things in the kitchen- just make your favorite brownie recipe and slice into triangles. Drizzle with green frosting. Complete the look with Christmas sprinkles for some chocolatey goodness! *Make a longer-lasting centerpiece with Kisses! Simply get a styrofoam cone from your local craft store, and you can help your kids hot glue Christmas chocolate kisses all around to make a shiney and unique Christmas tree centerpiece. Just add some tinsel at the top to complete the look.

*Rice krispie trees would be so simple and tasty! You can use regular rice krispies and add food coloring to your marshmallows, or use this super adorable idea and substitute with fruity pebbles! I think these just look beautiful- and so so tasty!

*Strawberry trees. I’m pretty sure nothing beats chocolate covered strawberries! Dip strawberries into green candy melts and cover with sprinkles to have some darling (and somewhat healthy) tree treats!

*I love this healthier version of a tree! This kind of stuff gets my kids just as excited- and I don’t have to load them with sugar! Green apple slices, pretzels, craisins, and cheese for the win! You kids can also easily help you put this together ;). You might even give them some olives, clementine slices, grape halves, bell pepper pieces etc. that they can “decorate” their tree with!

*Another fun way to incorporate food is a cute stack of colored pancakes! Top with a cheese star (using a toothpick), and your choice of fruit and you can have a whole Christmas tree meal! You can also use waffles for a similar breakfast- just dye the batter green, cut into fourths, and place a colored candy in each pocket of the waffle for a darling and simple Christmas tree breakfast!

These are just a few of many ideas to get you started! Have fun decorating your Christmas trees, in whatever form they may come ;).
