Tootsie Roll PLAYDOUGH! (for home or class parties)

By Sydney Hill

Who was it that said you shouldn't play with your food? This tootsie roll playdough is just too fun! You can make it for home or for a class party. Kids (and adults) will have fun making or even just playing with it...and then of course there's the eating part, and that's always great.

This is an inexpensive alternative to buying playdough. It can be used to make sculptures (Halloween sculptures, too), for play, and it saves having to buy candy for a class party to go along with it. Double Whammy! Plus, the flavor really is fairly similar to that of a tootsie roll.

Tootsie Roll Playdough

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate (or 2 tablespoons cocoa)
1/2 cup Karo corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup dry milk powder
3 cups powdered sugar (approximate)

Directions:
Melt the butter with the chocolate or cocoa. Then add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well. Add enough powdered sugar so that it is not sticky. Once mixed, start playing and rolling into shapes!
