Behind the Scenes

By Sydney Hill

So who is this new girl? This new name popped up a few weeks ago. Why should I listen to her? Okay, maybe not all of you are thinking this, but I thought it would be nice (and considerate) of me to let you know who this newbie is.

First of all, I love to have fun and try to reflect that in my articles. I will try to keep them light-hearted, short, sweet, and to the point. I have a ton of fun doing it, and I hope you enjoy reading them. I hope to keep learning and sharing what I know (without making it a dry article to read that sounds like a research paper).

I've always loved to write, and I am a number one fan of good food, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity for me. I also love finding and sharing good tips for cleaning, cooking, and just about everything. If I find things, I'll share them. I love that people comment to share extra tips as well. It's great to pass on all the knowledge we have! I hope to keep learning with you and from you as I try to share what I know. It's the great and wonderful circle of cooking.

I have a fabulous mother who is a fabulous cook, so my love of good food and recipes began young. I continue to work on my own skills so that I can impress like she does (okay, that sounded prideful). Impressing people is not the only reason I try to develop cooking talent, I want to create good food to eat as well.

I have many diabetics in my family, so I understand the importance of good health. I'll try to implement health when I can. It's sad the conflicting advertisements we get these days. One billboard is for this mouth-watering fast food, the next is how it will harm you. I'm not saying you can't eat out; my articles will share desserts, nutrition, etc. Just understand I'm not against healthy or yummy food. I'm just an advocate for eating things in moderation. Don't have too much of the not good, have lots of the good, watch yourself, and get good exercise.

I know this is not my life story (but who would want that, really?) However, hopefully this is a little bit more of me and my background so that you kind of have at least an inkling who this Sydney is and why she's here. I am excited to keep writing. Thank you so much for welcoming me on!
