Sauteed Green Beans and Mushrooms

Serves: 5

   3 pounds green beans
   6 tablespoons butter
   1 medium red onion, sliced
   2 cloves garlic, sliced
   1 teaspoon salt
   1/2 teaspoon pepper
   1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
   1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
   1 teaspoon dried thyme


1. Bring pot of salted water to boil and add green beans. Cook until tender @ 7 minutes
2. Drain.
3. In skillet with butter, cook mushrooms, red onion, garlic, thyme salt and pepper until mushrooms are almost tender, around 5-7 minutes
4. Add wine (broth), cook an addition 1-2 minutes until liquid is mostly absorbed
5. Sir in beans and heat through 2-3 minutes
