Cottage Cheese Ambrosia

2 cups cottage cheese small curd
1 (3-ounce) package orange jello
1 (16-ounce) can fruit cocktail well drained
1 (4-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed (about 1 3/4 cups)
1/2 cup coconut flaked (optional)


In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese and dry gelatin until blended. Gently stir in fruit, whipped topping and coconut until fruit is evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Mixture will thicken during standing.
