The demo videos show how to use the Cook'n Desktop App. It sounds like you may be using the Cook'n Web App. The Cook'n Desktop App and the Cook'n Web App are not the same.

To install the Cook'n Desktop App, click to www.dvo.com and under step 2, you will see a "Download Cook'n for PC" button and a "Download Cook'n for Mac" button. Click one of those two buttons.
